I’m a drama queen without any drama these days.
But things are likely to change dramatically tomorrow, when I’m off to the hairdresser again.
Memories of my last visit has mercifully started fading.
This time I’m going prepared. With pictures of models with perfect hair in hand.
And detailed instructions on layering without cutting the length. If you know what I mean.
Not that they have much to work with.
However, I’m not that much of an optimist where hairdressers are concerned. With reason, of course.
So I’m just hoping she won’t do another Edward Scissorhands impersonation. Or I might have to have a limb removed so I can take six weeks sick leave and recuperate in an isolation ward or something.
Please send good vibes my hairdresser’s way. Shame, she’s going to need it.

We were talking website, social media, etc. at work the other day. My two new office buddies declared blogging to be dead.
Just like that.
“What?” I thought. “No one told me.”
I so much wanted to tell them that I have a blog. And it pays my UNISA fees with my Google Adsense earnings.
And if there’s some money left over, it buys strappy sandals.
Blogging’s death has been greatly exaggerated in my not so humble opinion.
Maybe in its old form where readers followed one blogger’s life story day to day. I don’t know. I was never interested in personal blogs. Ironically.
Do people still do that?
From my blogging statistics, there are a few regular readers. But most come from search engines for specific articles.
As a reader I do the same thing. I read blogs I like, but mostly find stuff through Google.
I couldn’t relate my experiences to my colleagues or next thing they might Google my blog and find all that stuff I wrote about them. 
So I had to sit there and hear them prematurely declaring my hobby to be passe. Irrelevant.
Just wait until my next Adsense cheque show up

Wow! It’s the end of another week. I made it!
This week went by fast. Very fast.
Work was okay although we moved our office around so that I would sit closer to the doorway 
but have a mountain view 
You know how Capetonians are. Offer us a glimpse of Table Mountain and we’re easy.
I started walking again in the evenings with my walking buddy and I did a yoga workout that had my muscles stretched to the limit.
Monday we had a lovely sunny day in Cape Town, so I wore sandals. My new favourite strappy wedges.
The rest of the week was not as warm. It was back to boots.
Nevertheless, we got some much needed rain.
My colleague and I worked in the office garden on Thursday. We put various herbs in a healing box, tea box and a potpourri box.
I screamed (like the girl I am) whenever an earthworm made an appearance.
Last night I made a vegetable lasagne in the oven. It was so devine. My new favourite dish to make.
I’m feeling somewhat domestic and baked a bread this afternoon. One of my better efforts. Delicious. The recipe is on this blog somewhere.
Still in the planning stage is a vegetable and lentil soup and maybe mac&cheese tomorrow. Oh egg breyani might be in my near future too.
It might be the extra exercise that’s bringing on the food cravings.
I could do with an extra kg or two.
So that was my week. Sort of. Minus a bit of the Zen effect earlier in the week.

As if this year could get any stranger, I now find myself oddly at peace.
Hello…wasn’t I Ms Drama Queen just recently?
Where did all the drama go?
Next thing you know I’ll be singing the virtues of a certain botoxed politician. Or worse.
Nope. There’s nothing worse.
Typing that sentence above didn’t even cause my blood pressure to rise!
Maybe I should go visit my Mitchells Plain aunty for the final test of my newly found Zen state.
For now home is calm as always, work is good and relationships are great!
There are reasons as always. But its simple stuff.
1. Deciding to drop the drama
2. Accepting I cant control everything and that people are who they are. And their issues arent mine.
3. Accepting that I am who I am. Not perfect. Definitely not a bad person.
4. Yoga and being still.
Life’s far from ideal, but I’m alive and healthy and mostly happy. And so are the most important people in my life.
