Things I have learnt…

Written on August 18, 2010 – 8:14 pm | by Glass Pearl |

I know I haven’t been around lately, but that’s because I’ve been meditative, contemplative, philosophical…

Actually no, that’s a lie. I’ve been knitting.

Yes, it often surprises people that I knit. And can fix their computers. Not all at the same time of course.

And I’ve been enjoying being madly in love. And don’t care who knows! Even my Mitchell’s Plain aunty!

Anyway, I’m taking a break from doing a UNISA assignment due on Friday to share some things I’ve learnt recently.

1. The greatest thing you’ll ever learn, is just to love and be loved in return. Thanks to Moulin Rouge.

(Enough of the mushy stuff, Abby! :-) )

2. People in glass houses are always the ones who throw stones.
I found this out recently about someone in my office who was ‘concerned’ about my ‘closeness’ to another colleague.

Meanwhile…

3. What comes around, goes around. View 2 above.

4. My friends are the people who knows me and believes the best of me.

5. There are so many brave people in this world. My friend is one of those people. She had to do tough task that opened old wounds and skeletons in closets. She did it nonetheless.

6. I’m the worst housekeeper in the history of housekeeping. I need to pay someone to come clean my home! And its no shame to admit I need help LOL.

7. Laughter really is the best medicine. Especially the genuine laughter that comes from within.

8. So is being loved.

9. We have this one life. No one will tell me how to live mine.

10. The best revenge is to live well.

Great post Abby. Your words really shows you are deeply in love. You’ve got one luck man there.

I like no. 7. Truly laughter is the best medicine. If its effect could last longer than 8 hours in my recent stressful situation, a 3x a day laughter would lift me through the day easily.

Here’s an interesting quote in place for no. 6
“I am a marvelous housekeeper. Every time I leave a man I keep his house.” – Zsa Zsa Gabor

That should give us something to laugh about.
