Last week…

Last week was an uneven week for me.  It started with exams on Monday and Tuesday.

Monday I had a few interesting moments.  One when I finished writing my first paper and realised that I was the only female in the IT row.  I had one of those WTF moments.

I wondered what I was actually doing there.  Unusual for me, as I’m pretty much always going against the grain. And don’t really mind it.

(Where are the female IT students?? Maybe they’re not doing UNISA but doing universities and universities of technology.  Hopefully!)

The second one I had on my walk home.  I had one of those surreal moments when the sun was nearly behind Table Mountain and the light was a bit gloomy.  The road in front of me and the mountain at the end of it looked like part of a dream.  I felt so content and happy for no real reason.

Wednesday was back to work.  It was sort of nice to be missed, but mostly I didn’t really care too much.

It’s hard to know when people are being genuine, especially after the office gossip I was subjected to recently.  Funny enough a colleague walked into my office and said she had no one to gossip with when I was away.  Apparently everyone else declared their working space a gossip free zone.

I’m not so sure about that.

I did however tell her that my office is a gossip free zone.  This is going to be hard!  Because I’ve always been in the loop about office gossip.  But after being the target of untrue gossip, I am trying to not subject anyone else to such unfair behaviour.

Thursday and Friday went by in a sort of blur.  Although we did have a very handsome young man come make mini educational videos which will feature on the internet soon.  That was sort of nerve wracking for some of my colleagues who had to appear in the videos.

Studying didn’t exactly go smoothly this week as I had a few issues to take care of…

Which led to me doing something stupid!!! Really stupid!!

Like messaging an ex-boyfriend on Facebook!

Why didn’t I just study?
