Another Week Gone By…

Last week was short. Very short and not very productive.

It was the Easter long weekend of course and I took a day’s leave on Tuesday as well.

On Easter Sunday I had my first real test as a brand new vegetarian. My brother in law made lunch – seafood! My former favourite meal which included prawns, calamari and a seafood breyani.

He also made a vegetable lasagne (I should email my sister for the recipe and post it on the blog). Very delicious, mind you. My other family members were circling the vegetable lasagne as well.

As delicious as it looked, I wasn’t tempted to eat the seafood. All I had to do picture battery hens in a factory and all desire to eat meat of any kind disappears.

The best part of the day was playing with my nieces though.

Tuesday I went to the hairdresser for a trim and then off to the dentist for a polish and clean. I guess it was my birthday gift from me to me.

When I got to work on Wednesday a colleague asked whether I am in love, because she said I was looking different.

That’s a difficult question to answer, but I think it had something to do with my hair actually being a bit shorter. A good haircut can do that to you!

Thursday I had the job of looking through baby photos to find pictures for a workshop we’re having this week – some of them of my nieces. There was a lot of oooohing and aaaaaaaing going on. And it was so much fun! Could have contributed to my good mood.

But then on Friday I got a group of colleagues saying I was looking good lately and wondered if there was a particularly reason. I might have blushed at this point, fuelling their curiousity!

Again, I think it has something to do with the fact that I’m a bit more relaxed after the long weekend and UNISA assignments for the semester all handed in.

Or maybe they know something I don’t…

Also on Friday I also had another fun assignment. Updating our organogram, including staff photos. I went around with the camera asking if anyone wanted to update their photos. My colleagues reactions were very funny. Some wanted me to photoshop their photos, one asked me to make him look handsome – I said I wasn’t a miracle worker – and a few needed time to put on the lipstick. One or two told me to come back on Monday.

This week is going to be crazy! I need to get my website started (UNISA assignment) and also complete the course material for the semester. I’ve fallen behind in the last two weeks that were far too short.

I guess by the end of the week I will have much less of that relaxed look that has everyone wondering.
