Oprah’s You Have the Power Event in Jo’burg

Oprah Winfrey is coming to town, hosting a “You have the power” event at the campus in Bryanston, Jo’burg on 30 November.

Even with tickets at R750 each, all tickets were sold in 4 minutes when they went on sale 4 November.

460 tickets!

I don’t get it.

I know I have the power, I don’t need to pay R750 or even 1 cent for someone to tell me the obvious.

Anyway, the Oprah brand went even further.

To buy the tickets you needed to buy an O Magazine and present a unique printed number at Computicket.

Oh and you could only buy 2 tickets per person.

Whoever predicted Oprah’s star was waning better think again.

However, much I admire Oprah and her achievements, I don’t understand the self-help phenomenon.

I guess whatever works for someone?

      I used to love Oprah Winfrey, but now I’m not so sure. I mean please, every O Magazine has her on the cover, does’nt she get tired of it, tell me about being full of yourself. Its just too much if you ask me.
