Cricket: Gerald Majola Wants Answers for Proteas Loss
CEO of Cricket SA, Gerald Majola has decided to act like he’s in charge at CSA.
Whoever’s in charge it sure isn’t Mr Majola.
Only he and his ego thinks he really has a say whether the captain or coach gets fired.
All it takes is a bit of moaning from senior players in the team and we’re back to the same old same old formulaic game plans.
So he takes his giant ego and gets into ridiculously unnecessary squabbles to throw his weight around.
Like his fight with the Gauteng Cricket Board.
The major reason that SA are out of the the ICC World Championship is because of that previously mentioned ego of Majola, as much as it has to do with game plans and an inability to be flexible with that plan.
Just because the GCB questioned his handling of the Indian Pro T20 cricket series, he moved all SA’s matches in the current series from the Wanderers.
(SA does much better playing at the Wanderers than at Centurion.)
The coach and captain certainly should not be fired after test victories against England and Australia in the last year.
If anyone should go, it should be that egomaniac Gerald Majola.
