Spring Equinox Today!
We know it’s Spring in Cape Town today because there’s a south easterly blowing and there are a few fluffy clouds over Table Mountain!
We might not get that same feeling tomorrow when the north westerly puts in an appearance and brings more rain.
The Spring Equinox takes place this evening at around 11.19pm though.
The equinox supposedly marks the time when day and night are equally long i.e. 12 hours, but according to timeanddate.com it is a myth.
Today we’re celebrating the Spring Equinox (a bit early in the day) at work by planting organic vegetables. We’re joining the www.plantingseason.co.za cause, where they’re attempting to get 1million South Africans planting some organic vegetables.
We’ll be planting chilli trees, lettuce, spinach, spring onion – and a few I can’t quite remember.
Our outside area at work is already transformed and it’s benefitting us indoors as well.
Some of us go outside for a few minutes to tend the garden or to just enjoy the area.
Hopefully more people will be planting vegetables to welcome spring!
