7de Laan: Clara vs Paula
While I haven’t exactly thought of the two as rivals since way back when Clara lost interest in Altus and moved with her boyfriend to a farm, the comparison was again evident when Clara returned from Wit River (or is it Witbank) complete with phone calls from a stranger.
That’s of course Paula’s usual modus operandi.
Remember… on one of her visits to Witbank, Paula returned with the Flooze in tow – after Paula apparently stole her boyfriend.
But now that Paula’s off on her latest quest to find herself, Clara pretty much had the Laan (and two thirds of its male population) to herself.
And she been working it in her dumb brunette way – charming everyone and his dog with her innocence and lack of Afrikaans grammar.
While Clara is charming in an innocent way, Paula is snobbier and a bit on the stuck up side – yet she has her own charm and a sweet vulnerability.
Paula plays the dumb blonde when needed and somehow evolved into a wordsmith – speaking in flowery Afrikaans not often heard on the streets.
Her relationship with Altus is what really softened Paula up from just being a ditzy, stuck up blonde.
Both Clara and Paula bring comic relief to the Laan as their innocence in the case of Clara and over self-confidence in Paula’s case is usually played up.
Paula is due back on our screens in the next few weeks.
We’ll have to wait and see if there’s place for both Clara and Paula on the Laan.

Clara makes me ROFLMFAO half the time, but Paula adds something special to 7de laan. I don’t know quite what it is, but I guess it’s credit to the actress who plays Paula.
Clara can be quite “dumb” at times, Paula is smart, I enjoy smart more.
I hope like crazy that Paula and Altie get back together.

I definitely prefer Paula too. But Clara has her charm as well. The are both very funny in their own way. But the two together might be too much.

I kept seeing the preview of David asking Maria where Emma was, and Lukie telling Clara they were done. Perhaps it’s for tomorrow’s episode.

cum on people Angelique (Clara) is awesome I saw her live show were she played lady Macbeth fore TUT (Tshwane university of technology) it was amazing, o and she speaks Afrikaans fluently un like my English, she is a really nice person in real live I would say she’s allot nicer then Diaan(Paula)

Clara is a fun character and I’m sure Angelique is a great girl, but…
Paula is a far more complex person than Clara. I’m sure Diaan is a nice person as well.
I actually like both Clara and Paula, but if I had to choose it would be Paula hands down.

Ag ek wil nou nie snaaks wees nie maar Clara gee my ‘n kramp. Sy is onwerklik en net TE veel. Gita en Dawid Geeff is ook nou al holrug gery. ASB doen iets anders. Ek is baie bly dat die dwelm kwessie so goed hanteer word en bitter trots op Errol. Ek hoop ons kinders gaan iets uit die dwelm drama leer. Ek kan nie wag vir Paula om terug te kom nie.
