Happy Freaking Spring Day!
As as become usual for us Capetonians, Spring Day had dawned with high winds and rain. Just a reminder that winter has a few more weeks to go.
While we know it is not officially spring yet, not until the Spring Equinox on 22 September, we
still like to see some sort of sign that winter is coming to an end.
Actually there are a few signs.
Its getting dark later in the evening – I don’t have to put on lights until at least 6.00pm and it’s getting light earlier in the morning.
And there’s wild flowers all over the show. NOT to be picked though, as it is illegal to do so.
If only the cold weather could go away.
But when the weather reporter announces temperatures of 32 degrees Celsius up north, we do get a bit envious down south.
We also long to put away the umbrellas, jerseys, boots and coats.
At least we know it will eventually come and with it the South Easter!!
