Since the elections on 22 April, things have gotten far too quiet on the local political front.  Reasonableness abound, except for one or two silly Malemaisms that escape into the public domain.

Even the new mayor of Cape Town hasn’t yet brought out a presentation to appease strikers across the city…not yet anyway!

I miss the craziness that was our last elections. 

The name calling between Helen Zille and Julius Malema have all disappeared since 23 April.

All we have these days are a few token jabs by opposition parties that gets them a meeting with President Zuma…and then nothing.

Even former Archbishop Desmond Tutu is making nice with the president, saying he, Zuma has genuine warmth and connects more easily with people than his predecessor.

We need our own Sarah Palin (in the form of resident genius Julius Malema) – that former and probably future US political candidate.

She tweets the most ridiculous statements, updates her Facebook and blogs half-truths all in the name of keeping her face in the national spotlight.

Not only does she make stupidity look cool – to her constituents, she’s laying the foundation for her future.

Imagine the 2012 US election campaign.  Obama vs Palin.

Obama the bad guy for being president after Bush vs Palin who has upped her game since 2008 and can now string two sentences together…on Twitter and Facebook. How cool is that?

But back to the real reason for this post. Julius Malema and Twitter.

The man already has a Twitter account.

All we need is a few stupid remarks a week – nothing more – and everyone feels smarter for a day.
