Bryan Habana for WP?? Hope Not!

So the gossip is that Bryan Habana and his manager/dad is visiting Cape Town with the view to signing up for WP!

This after Wynand Olivier was allegedly coming to WP and then got a better contract from the Bulls to stay at Loftus and Jacque Fourie is apparently still under contract with the Golden Lions.

So WP have become the new contract negotiating tool?

Rassie Erasmus should be concentrating on signing and keeping our young up and coming players, instead of going for already established ones.

What’s the point in spending a huge sum of money on a player that gets injured at a drop of a hat? And anyway, what are the chances that he will sign and then ask to be released to an overseas club in a year’s time?

We have enough talent in Cape Town that needs to be properly identified and honed-  after all the Maties are Varsity Cup champs and WP under 18′s won the Craven Week final.

Instead of losing promising Western Province players to other provinces, Rassie and the WP hierachy should be signing them up young and keeping them in Cape Town.

Bryan Habana is undoubtedly a brilliant player – but he’s not our player.

Hopefully Rassie Erasmus will come to his senses and stop trying to buy established players from other provinces.
