Jacob Zuma’s first 100 days

Last week represented President Zuma’s first 100 days in charge of the Republic.

Just before the April 2009 elections my Australian sister in law asked what I thought would happen if Zuma became president.

I told her that my life would continue as usual, regardless.

And it has.

Although I did not vote for Jacob Zuma, I am satisfied with the way his government is looking to more social projects.

I am generally satisfied that the right people are being appointed.

Though I don’t get the impression that Zuma himself is running the country or making appointments or huge decisions himself.

Maybe its because I find it hard to believe that a man who knowingly had unprotected sex with an HIV positive woman, can run a country.

Whoever is running our government…the first hundred days were fine, but its only the start.

Hopefully this government can make a dent in alleviating poverty and crime and improve the education system.
