Checkers Kenilworth Centre’s Opening
If you live in the areas surrounding Kenilworth Centre, you will be aware that earlier this year, Shoprite became Checkers.
Over a few months they traded the garish yellow interior for a calming green one, culminating in a grand opening about 9 days ago.
Since then its been queues and mayhem.
I avoided Checkers and went to Pick n Pay instead.
Until I saw the price of Nescafe Classic. PnP Charged R53.99 compared with Checkers’ R44.99!
So this morning after some other chores, I got in line.
Perhaps Wimpy’s delicious coffee gave me the courage, because I dont do queues…unless there’s no other choice.
Checkers had some other bargains that I picked up like 2kg flour for R12.99.
But my goal was that coffee.
It wasnt bad at all. About 40 minutes including standing in line outside the shop, shoving through throngs of people and standing in the checkout.
Well worth the R9 saving.
