OMW! OK Magazine’s Grissly Michael Jackson Cover
A week ago all the media had to print was the death of Michael Jackson – pop star and world icon.
The following day they had tributes from other celebrities to get us to take notice of them.
They followed that up by celebrating his life with photo tributes of Michael Jackson in his hey day some 25 years ago.
Of course this was never going to be enough to keep us going back for more.
So the stories became grisslier by the day.
The children arent his – they say. He was anorexic and on a daily concoction of drugs we were told, he was bald and weighed no more than 51kg…
But there’s just so much to keep us entertained.
So OK! Magazine went the whole hog and produced a cover of the dead Michael Jackson.
OK Magazine defends it’s decision to pay US$ 500 000 like this:
“The cover represents an event in the history of an extremely entertaining and controversial figure and is sure to provoke some emotion and questions from readers and fans about the circumstances. The news often does.”
Now that the gloves are off, where do they go next?
Because of course the the next photo or will go viral and get lots and lots of publicity for the news source.
