Arghhhhhhh Those Darn Vuvuzelas!!!
I know it’s not done to loathe those darn noise makers called vuvuzelas, but I don’t care!
Hearing that constant dull noise throughout a soccer match during the Confed Cup is almost intolerable! I can’t even imagine what it must be like in the stadium.
Those things are the biggest annoyances at sporting events anywhere in the world. Even worse than that band at St George’s Park cricket ground.
And that’s saying a lot.
Imagine listening to a band playing the same three songs for 7 hours straight and multiply that by 100. That will give you the general idea of how annoying those darn vuvuzelas are.
They sound like millions of swarms of buzzing bees – only worse.
It makes watching Bafana Bafana play even more insufferable!
Why one earth was this deemed to be part of our national identity?
I was listening to Capetalk / Radio 702 this morning and it seemed to be disliked by people across the board.
South Africans like to sing, why not rather do that at football matches and save the vuvuzelas to annoy mother’s in law with.
By the way, in short survey amongst colleagues, it seems women were least likely to enjoy the sound of the vuvuzela.
Men were more able to tolerate and even enjoy it.
I, however will be watching Bafana Bafana with the sound OFF this evening at 8.30pm!

Because of the vuvuzela I WILL NOT BE watching any soccer..it has to be the MOST ANNOYING NOISE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can’t even hear the commentary with that “thing” annoying the c**p out of you!! BAN THEM I SAY…why is it being hailed as a South African invention to be proud of?????

Have even read comments that onjection to this hideous “music” instrument is racial!!!!! How anyone in their right mind can sit through 90 minutes of that is beyond me!!! God knows what the rest of the world must think..no wonder half the seats are empty

Well, Lesley, they’re wrong.
That noise is unbearable – how can that have anything to do with race?
Anyway people from all walks of life and racial backgrounds called into Capetalk/702 and disliked the sound. The same with people I asked at work.
