Since she’s been mayor of Cape Town, Mrs Helen Zille has pretty much gotten a free ride from the Cape Town media.

Either they are afraid of her sharp tongue, or they’re just complacent and accepting of her condescension towards everyone – except white men – in the province.

It’s taken a Johannesburg newspaper, the Sowetan, to call Mrs Zille on her arrogance.

And now Mrs Zille blames her spokesperson for sending her rather personal comments about the president of the republic to the Sowetan, instead of only to brown nosing Cape Town newspapers.

This is the same woman who says the buck stops with her.

Talk is cheap. 

So far Mrs Zille has not only blamed her spokesperson, but also  blamed the ANC for future failures by claiming that protesting township dwellers are doing so because the ANC is trying to make the Western Cape ungovernable!

Regardless of the fact that township dwellers all over the country have been having their say about their living conditions, in pretty much the same way.

That woman has taken race relations and women back 10 years in one week and the news media are letting her get away with it.

Of course the Great Mrs Helen Zille is perfect and never makes mistakes and we know she only has very competent people in her goverment – besides her spokesperson one would guess.

We can only wonder who she’ll blame next time.

She’s causing an even greater racial divide in Cape Town, has done absolutely nothing to narrow the divide and the Cape Town media blames everyone, except where the blame should firmly be put – on Mrs Helen Zille herself.

Because as she’s claimed throughout her election campaign – the buck ultimately stops with her.
