Mother’s Day!
With all the public holidays we’ve had in April, I clean forgot about Mother’s Day!
It’s on 10 May – next week!
Looks like advertisers have forgotten too, because I haven’t seen the usual deluge of advertisements in any form of media.
In fact, there might even still be a few Easter one’s around – uhmmm KFC!
So last week the realisation hit me – what to get my mother for Mother’s Day!
I could make her a piece of jewellery with natural beads I bought a while ago, because that’s what she likes and that’s what I do.
But (after a rushed e-mail to my brother) we also decided to combine for a gift voucher to get her something she wants.
Although mothers enjoy receiving pretty gifts, I think they much prefer us to spend time with them if we no longer live with them or to help out around the house if we do.
The best gift to give a mother is appreciation – although a box of chocolates or bunch of flowers won’t hurt.
