Winter Is On It’s Way to Cape Town

Written on April 28, 2009 – 8:09 pm | by Glass Pearl |

Autumn is barely half-way, but winter has already made itself known in Cape Town, as the IPL T20 cricket fraternity have discovered.

Weather forecasters are reporting normal rain from now to June and heavier rain than usual in July and August.

Today at 5.30pm when I arrived home from work, it was already nearly dark – meaning I had to turn on a light!

Not good for my energy saving endeavours!

Winter is not my friend. It makes me want to hibernate and sleep for 3 months.  It makes me want to seek out little slivers of sunshine whereever I can find it for a small dose of Vitamin D!

My dream is to win the lotto (which I hardly ever play) and live 6 months in Cape Town and 6 months on some Caribbean island.

A girl can only dream.

Meanwhile this week we’re expecting more rain – yuck! What can you do though?

Winter is here to stay until well into October!

At least we know summer will make its appearance again…eventually!
