Stormers Win – Oh happy day!
Just when we thought it was safe to ignore the Stormers goings on in Australasia, they go and win!
What’s up with that?
We Stormers fans had forgotten that the Super 14 was still going on. We thought the tournament ended when our Cape team beat the Lions at Newlands a few weeks ago.
Apparently not…
Last I heard they had gotten on a plane headed to Australia and New Zealand and then heard nothing further for weeks.
There were some rumours about a few loses and very boring one dimensional rugby, but I put it down to the usual nonsense that eminates from the Antipodes and didn’t give it much thought.
I heard something about Rassie Erasmus threatening to quit if fans and local journalist didn’t stop criticising him, but that was while they were still in Cape Town.
Maybe the best thing for some Stormers supporters like me, is to live in denial since I have all but promised to support them through better or worse – mostly worse – till death us do part.
Sometimes when it seems my relationship with the Stormers has finally hit rock bottom, but then they go and do something sweet like beat the Highlanders and we forget the bad times.
Welcome back Stormers – all is forgiven.
