Vote and Get A Free Coffee From Wimpy on 22 April
Wimpy are offering all voters who walk into the fast food restaurant on 22 April a regular size free coffee!
They are calling the campaign “Cups for Hope”.
All you need is to show the ink stamp from your voting station at your nearest Wimpy and the free coffee is yours.
If the feeling of contributing to your country is not enough, Wimpy’s coffee surely will make it worth your while to vote.
They do have the best coffee in all the country.
Wimpy’s campaign is based on the one Starbucks offered in the USA during their elections where they initially offered coffee to all voters who showed their voting stamp after they voted.
Starbucks however was in violation of US election laws and were forced to change the offer. No one was allowed to offer an incentive for voters to cast their vote, even if it was well meaning.
They changed the offer to one which gave free coffee to anyone who asked for it on 4 November.
We can only wait and see if Wimpy’s offer is in accordance with South African election laws.
Who will deny the people free coffee though?

Good for you Wimpy. That’s a sharp bit of marketing and a good cause for our country. Ke Nako!

I can understand concerns about incentives, especially in a country like the US where so many people simply cannot be bothered to vote.
