Elections: I’ve Traded My Vote
I’ve been very undecided about my vote in the upcoming elections on 22 April.
As an ANC supporter who believes Jacob Zuma should face corruption and other criminal charges he was accussed of, I had no idea what to do.
The only thing I knew with 100% certainty was that the DA stood no chance of getting my vote.
Today while chatting with a colleague, who I’ve been having ongoing conversations with, we came to a compromise.
As a COPE supporter he was unhappy with the choice of Boesak in the Western Cape and as an ANC supporter I was unhappy with Zuma and a 66% ANC majority.
We decided to vote COPE nationally and ANC locally.
Apparently many of his COPE supporting friends will do the same to try and avoid a DA majority in the Western Cape and an ANC 66% majority nationally.
I was prepared to vote ID nationally, but believe our country needs a representative opposition party.
Problem solved!
