Two Oceans Half Marathon – 1 week to go!
During this morning’s light run I realised that next week around the same time I would be running my first ever half marathon.
I have always wanted to run the Two Oceans and somehow it was always a goal to do it this year, but before this I never had the courage to try it.
Anyone – at any age – can do this, if I can.
Here I find myself at the end of an 18 week programme, that will hopefully help me finish the race. I used the Virtual Coach, Dave Spence’s programme that I found through Google.
My entire lifestyle has changed since I started running again. I’ve been a lot more positive, especially at work, more creative, calmer and best of all my body is the best shape it’s been in a while.
Without changing my eating habits too much, I’ve lost a few centimetres and got fit. I don’t weigh myself other than at rare doctor’s visits, so I don’t know if my weight has changed much.
I got some last minute advice to carbo load from Wednesday and to carry about 4 sachets of energy gel into the race.
Now all that’s left is a few light runs during the week and then it’s the big day!
I can’t wait!
