It’s My Party!
Today’s my birthday and also the birthday of Afrigator – Africa’s blog agreggator.
Afrigator is two years old – I’m a WHOLE lot older!
Usually around this time of the year I get very contemplative about achievements and non achievements – otherwise known as the birthday day blues.
Even as a 13 year old, I hated my birthday. It’s funny, because I always liked getting older, feeling more like me each year.
This year is different.
No birthday blues, no contemplation, no backward glancing, no plans on becoming SA’s first female president.
I am working on two of my greatest dreams – running the Two Oceans half marathon next weekend and writing this blog daily.
Although I have to admit, the best thing about having a birthday is getting messages from family, friends and colleagues. It reminds me that I’m part of a whole.
For my birthday I’m going to watch cricket for half of it and the other half spend time out with the family once the 40 degree weather subsides!
