Malema Joins the DA
What is happening in this country? Has everyone gone mad?
We woke up this morning to shocking news of Julius Malema’s defection from the ANC.
Apparently when he visited Orania last Saturday, he attended a secret meeting with the leader of their youth league.
Afterwards Malema seemed more subdued than usual.
He even told reporters that the ANC had a lot to learn about agriculture from the people in Orania.
We can only speculate what happened in that meeting, as neither Malema nor Orania’s youth are speaking out.
Malema declared to reporters on Tuesday that the long drive back to Johannesburg was his “road to Damascus”. He said he knew how St Paul must have felt – first blinded by a bright light, followed by total clarity.
He knew what he had to do.
After returning to Johannesburg, he went to Shell House and tended his resignation.
He immediately contacted Helen Zille and asked what he had to do to join the DA and become one of her “garden boys”.
His membership becomes effective today.
