Joost Video Saga Gets Ugly
Why could the whole Joost saga not have stopped with the video?
This whole story has taken a very ugly turn with rumours and counter rumours and Joost’s PI Mike Bolhuis is not helping the situation.
Are Beeld, Rapport, Heat and You Magazines trying to destroy Joost van der Westhuizen in the process of selling magazines? Times are tough and magazines need to get sold one way or the other, but there’s a family with small children involved.
So Joost and Amor have portrayed themselves as the perfect family. Many people do.
Everyone who is part of a family knows not every day is perfect and what’s acceptable in one marriage, may not be so another’s. That’s between the two parties involved. Not the whole nation.
Joost is an ex-rugby player now rugby commentator. He is not in a position of trust – he owes us the public absolutely nothing. Once he leaves his job he can go home and do whatever he wants.
It’s up to his wife and family whether their lifestyle is acceptable or not. We don’t know anything that happens behind their front door and we have no reason to know.
I can understand the initial gossip rag kind of newsworthiness of the video. It’s not every day that we find a local celebrity, respected in the public eye being captured in a sex tape.
Enough is enough now. Leave the van der Westhuizens alone to sort out their own lives and move onto other stories of alien abductions, etc.

I was one of Joosts greatest supporters, just as you are now. But he is his own worst enemy – preaching that he is a Christian and having high morals – then you need to live by those statements. The problem too is that he has done nothing to prove himself innocent, only more guilty by his actions.And.. I think his wife has only found out about his lifestyle now!

I like Joost, but I’m not fan of his.
Whether he cheated on Amor or not, I don’t think that is my business. She probably thought she was married to Mr Wonderful, but now she’s learned of the facts, it’s up to her to stay in the marriage or not.
It’s not my place to judge them – although I would kick my guy out on his behind if he did anything like that in our relationship.
