Zille’s Delusions of Grandeur
Helen Zille surely has delusions of grandeur!
She is parading herself around as the saviour of Cape Town. In her arrogance she believes this city would have fallen apart without her golden touch!
How did we ever survive without this god-like woman? It is as if this city was about to be turned into Gotham City and Helen Zille is some unmasked, botoxed, blonde crusader.
According to the article in the Mail and Guardian, Mrs Zille talks about how she and the DA have created jobs, amongst a host of other saintly endeavours.
First of all – DA coalition! The DA has not governed the city on its own because it did not win the last local election, nor did it get a majority of votes!
Secondly, just how many of those jobs are World Cup related? How many of those jobs have something to do with the construction of the World Cup Stadium in Green Point? Who dilly dallied about the stadium for months and even opposed it?
Yes, Helen Zille, you!
How many of the city’s positive outlook has to do with the Soccer World Cup?
Wow, how can one be that dishonest even in an election year?
Once a politician always a politician and no makeover will change that!

A question miss abrahams… Why do you have it in for Helen Zille? On post after post you criticize her yet nothing you say is backed up by hard facts. As a Western Cape resident with no politcal bias one way or another it is pretty obvious and apparent to see and feel the improvement in management of Cape Town as well as the goodwill that exists as a result of the “blonde crusader”. One can quote fact after fact or statistic after statistic on exactly how things have improved under Zille/DA administration – but some people miss abrahams always let personal bias blur reality…
in for her, for whatever reason

Hi WaZza,
This blog is unashamedly anti-Zille, anti-Zuma and anti-Malema.
I dont seem to get called names for being anti Zuma and Malema. I wonder why!
I dislike Helen Zille for giving the impression that she alone is right – no wonder the taxi drivers won’t listen to her. She alone saved Cape Town from the wicked ANC. Mrs Caped Crusader.
Have you heard her carrying on on Cape talk yet?
Good lord, if I was a taxi owner I would walk out her presentations too.

I did not call you any names Abigail. Just pick up strong anti Zille sentiments in all your blogs.
You wouldnt get called names for being anti zuma or malema, as anyone with a concience and a brain couldnt possible support either of them.
Zille can come across sometimes as the “Head School Mistress” no doubt, but I feel her honesty and sincerity are real. Who would one have running a country at the end of the day the headmistress who seems bossy yet is very efficient or a man who is a crook and has himself surrounded by crooks? The answer for me is a no-brainer.
As for the taxi situation, the reality is that some people will be un-happy about it one way or the other. We must remember now that this industry has for the last many years here in the Western Cape aired its grieviences by blockading roads, violence, intimidations and in some cases even shooting bus drivers or passengers… all the while endangering good peoples lives who go about they daily business.

No, I’m not talking of you WaZza. I actually appreciate the civil debate with you.
I seriously don’t mind listening (and reading) other people’s differing opinions.
90% of the internet is anti-ANC anyway, so I’m sure if you wanted to talk to like minded people you would find them.
Luckily the country doesn’t consist only of the internet generation come election day.
The other day Ms Zille went onto to Capetalk and said she used 1 syllable words to talk to the taxi drivers. That was her first sentence and immediately I switched off to the rest of her conversation.
If you think that is good governing, then you and I will have to agree to disagree.
Personally I think to solve the taxi situation the Mayor will have to give an inch, and the taxi drivers will have to give an inch.
She though goes on the radio and gets on her high horse pissing me a very mild mannered person (outside this blog) off, what still about the taxi drivers???
How can you negiotiate when you go in thinking your outcome is the only one???

Look maybe if everyone in SA were fortunate enough to have inernet access and were able to see and read real information with no spin on it the ANC would never come into power again for how badly they have served all South Africans. Sadly thats not the case
The way the taxi drivers resolve issues as mentioned above – maybe one syllable words were giving them too much credit.
Abigail I feel that with Zille you miss the point – look at the bigger picture ounfolding here in SA. Were are on the threshold of a new political era one way or another. Zille may have her flaws but in comparrison with what’s going on with the ANC’s top brass is it really that bad. The ANC has had 15 years of a chance to improve things and they failed simple. If the ANC were to get a report card it would be worse than Malema’s matric results I promise you.

It’s this kind of attitude from Helen Zille herself that worsens the situation with the taxi drivers.
I can definitely see why the taxi drivers walked out of a presentation when they went to a meeting with the mayor on Sunday.
How insulting to go to a meeting to negotiate and then be subjected to Ms Zille’s view on how things will benefit taxi drivers.
That woman is surely delusional.

I get the picture pretty good with Helen Zille and still dislike the way she portrays herself as the only hope for the city, province and country.
Her “head school mistress” as you call it attidude might have worked well pre-1994, but we’re living in a world where you respect your opponents and treat people you deal with on a daily basis with dignity.
As if black people still need to be told to be seen and not heard!

respect… and treat people with dignity.
Is there any dignity in living, hungry in a shack when politicians steal millions each month?
By Abigail Abrahams on Mar 9, 2009 | Reply
Do you think people didn’t live like that before?
Where have you been?
By WaZzA on Mar 10, 2009 | Reply
So that is reason for them to continue?

WaZzA, the cycle of poverty doesn’t just sieze to exist after 15 years. Apartheid is a legacy we will be paying for and living with for at least a generation or two.
Not even almighty caped crusader Helen Zille could not have relieved poverty in the same time frame.
You and I will not see eye to eye on this situation – we will have to agree to disagree.
