We dont need Obama in SA
What we need is the Obama spirit of hope and change in this country.
When I turn on the news and hear Jacob Zuma, Terror Lekota, Helen Zille and Bantu Holamisa speaking, I wonder where we can go to find real hope. We are subjected to the same rhetoric day in and day out.
Clean out corruption – this out of the mouth of Zuma.
Swift justice – again out of the mouth of Zuma who tries to stall his corruption trial at every turn.
A new kind of politics from Lekota, Zille and Holamisa et al when all you hear is the same old same old out of their mouths.
Where are our future leaders? Where are the 40-somethings with higher ambition? Who will walk the talk of going beyond party politics, open government and collective responsibility?
After watching the Obama inauguration last week, my vote is once again in the undecided column - unlikely to vote for any of the current parties.
My expectations have once again risen to beyond the current political rhetoric.
I want more than ridiculous manifestos. (COPE has the nerve to say their full manifesto won’t be ready until about 6 months after the election…????)
I want a leader who rises above politics as usual…someone who makes me not want to change the channel after their first sentence.
