Two Oceans 21KM Training Update
My Two Ocean’s 21km training went very well this week. I’m running 5 minutes walking two for about an hour.
I was tired after work most of the time during the week and tried to slack off, but after a few minutes of running or exercise, I felt fine.
Running is my favourite part of training, but strength and aerobic training is not so much fun. My unfitness gets revealed time and time again, especially with jumping jacks and any sort push ups.
On my strength training days I use light weights, a gym ball and band. Inbetween sets I do aerobic exercises like shadow boxing and jumping jacks.
Afterwards it feels like I had a workout.
I’ve seen a difference in my durability when running though and my body is taking shape, especially after all the holiday excess.
Saturday I put on some music and ear plugs while running. It made a huge difference. My strides took on a rhythm and I was able to concentrate on the music, rather than time or distance.
I’m still looking for a running partner in the Kenilworth area to run longer distances with. Whether I find a partner or not, I can’t wait for my next run.
